OLATHE, Kan. – MNU dominated the 4th quarter to advance to the Heart Tournament semifinals with a 73-61 victory over Missouri Valley on Wednesday. The 1st quarter was tight, and Valley led 15-14 heading to the 2nd. MNU won the 2nd quarter convincingly and took an 11-point lead to the locker room. Valley fought back in the 3rd quarter and took a 1-point lead with under 10 seconds left. But Mackenzie Manthe hit a putback layup at the buzzer to give MNU back the lead. The Pioneers held Valley to just 7 points in the 4th, and pulled away to win by 12.

The Pioneers outscored the Vikings by 11 in the fourth quarter.

Individual Leaders
TrEl'Shawn Smith led the way with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Mackenzie Manthe had a season-high 16 points. And Bi'Anna Pettis added 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals.
