Pioneers Drop 2 in Louisiana

STERLINGTON, La. - MNU lost 5 straight for the first time since 2015 after dropping games to Mid-America Christiand and Tabor in the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, La. on Friday. In the first game vs. MACU, the Evangels jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, but MNU answered right back in the bottom of the inning with a Brycen Sherwood RBI single and an AJ McMahon 2-run homer to tie it. MACU put up 3 more runs in the 3rd, but the Pioneers got 2 in the 4th on a Frank Vogel double and a Drew Woodley sacrifice fly to close the gap. The Evangels extended the lead with 2 in the 6th and another in the 7th, and MNU lost 9-5.

MACU's 3-run 3rd proved to be enough.

Individual Leaders
Drew Woodley (1-3, R, 2B, RBI, SF), Brycen Sherwood (2-4, R, 2B, RBI), AJ McMahon (1-3, R, HR, 2 RBI), and Frank Vogel (2-2, R, 2B, RBI, BB) drove in MNU's 5 runs.

In the second game vs. Tabor, the Pioneers couldn't score until the 7th while Tabor built a 7-0 lead. A 2-out 2-run double in the bottom of the 7th provided MNU's only runs, and the Pioneers lost 7-2.

Turning Point
Tabor led 3-0 after 2 innings.

Individual Leaders
Henry Hathhorn struck out 2 in an inning of relief. And Drew Woodley (2-4, R), Brycen Sherwood (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB), and Noah Castillo (2-3) led the offense.
