Pioneers Drop Close One to CMU

OLATHE, Kan. – The Pioneers trailed by 15 with 8 minutes left and almost came all the way back in a 90-86 loss to Central Methodist on Wednesday. The Eagles led by 11 with 5 minutes left in the 1st half, but MNU closed with a 16-5 run to tie it at the break. CMU dominated the opening of the 2nd half, out-scoring MNU 34-19 over 12 minutes to take a 15-point lead. The Pioneers clawed back, however, and closed the gap to 3 with 2 minutes left. But the Eagles made every free throw down the stretch to hold off MNU and win by 4.
