Cold Second Half Dooms Pioneers

OLATHE, Kan. – The Pioneers had a big lead in the 3rd quarter, but a cold spell let Peru State back in the game in a 70-63 loss on Wednesday. MNU used a big second quarter to take a 9-point lead into halftime, and stayed hot early in the 3rd to lead by 15. But the Bobcats closed with a 20-7 run to cut the MNU lead to 2 heading to the 4th. Peru stayed hot and the Pioneers went ice cold in the 4th, and the Bobcats took a 9-point lead with a minute left. Peru hit their free throws down the stretch, and MNU lost by 7.
