CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Pioneers dominated at Mt. Mercy in the Heart Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday. MNU owned Set 1 with a score of 25-16. Set 2 was tied at 18, but an Alex Cummins service run capped a 4-0 spurt and a 23-20 Pioneer lead. MNU won 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead, and Set 3 was the same story. Tied at 19, Ashlyn Halford capped a 4-0 run to give the Pioneers a 23-19 lead and 25-21 win.

Turning Point
MNU pulled away late in Set 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Individual Leaders
Cassidy Crist led the way with 18 kills and 6 digs. Mikayla Johnson had 10 kills and 6 digs. Alex Cummins had 40 assists. And Ashlyn Halford had 24 digs.
