Pioneers Fall at #8 Park to Close Regular Season

PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Pioneers took Set 1 but dropped the next 3 at #8 Park on Tuesday. MNU started slowly and trailed 11-5 in the first set. But a huge service run by Alex Cummins resulted in an 8-0 run to give the Pioneers a 14-12 lead. The rest of the set went back and forth until MNU scored 4 straight to take a 24-20 lead, and the Pioneers won 25-21. Set 2 was tight until the Pirates pulled away late for a 25-21 win. MNU jumped out to a 6-0 lead in Set 3 and led 12-6 before Park took its second timeout. The Pioneers still led 18-13, but Park went on a 6-0 run to take control of the set. The Pirates finished the set on a 6-2 run to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Park ran away late in Set 4 to take the match 3-1.

Individual Leaders
Cassidy Crist led the way with 16 kills, 12 digs, and 4 blocks. Mia Olson had 14 kills. Alex Cummins had 39 assists and 13 digs. And Ashlyn Halford had 30 digs.
