ATCHISON, Kan. - Mekhi Elmore's season-best 22 points led MNU to a 69-60 victory at Benedictine on Saturday. In a slow first half, Elmore had 12 of MNU's 24 points, and the defense allowed just 18. The typical Pioneer game plan was derailed as 2 of MNU's top 3 scorers recorded 0 points, but Elmore and Brooks Langrehr picked up the slack. The Ravens led by 6 at the 14-minute mark of the second half, but MNU went on a 16-2 run to take an 8-point lead. The Ravens closed the gap to 4 with 6 minutes left, but Langrehr and Ed Wright hit back-to-back buckets to push the lead back to 9.
