KANSAS CITY, Mo. - MNU won 2 final-at bat games vs. Evangel on Wednesday. In Game 1, Emma Ryan's 1st inning 3-run homer gave MNU an early jolt, and she extended the lead with an RBI double in the 3rd for a 4-0 lead. Evangel got on the board with a run in the 4th, then rallied for 3 in the top of the 6th to tie the game. In the bottom of the 7th, Cordelia Hanger led off with a double, and Sirena Salazar bunted her to 3rd. Kaleigh Bayless followed with a grounder to short, but no throw was made with the threat of Hanger at 3rd. Emma Ryan was intentionally walked to load the bases, and Morgan Fouch fought off several tough 2-strike pitches before finally lining a single up the middle to win the game.

Game 1 Turning Point
Morgan Fouch's walkoff single won the game.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Alexis Wilds struck out 10 in 5.1 innings in a no-decision. Allison Denges got the final 5 outs for the win. And Sirena Salazar (1-2, 2 R, HBP, Sac), Kaleigh Bayless (1-2, R, HBP, Sac), Emma Ryan (2-2, R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, HBP, IBB), and Morgan Fouch (2-3, RBI, BB, SB) led the offense.

In Game 2, Emma Ryan again gave MNU an early lead with a 1st inning sacrifice fly. Danielle McCartney's 2-out RBI single in the 4th made it 2-0, but Evangel tied the game with a 2-run double in the top of the 5th. In the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs and nobody on, McCartney reached on an error and moved to second on a wild pitch. Cordelia Hanger's fly ball to right field dropped safely, and McCartney scored the go-ahead run. Evangel threatened with a runner in scoring position in the 7th, but a pop out and strikeout ended the game and gave MNU the sweep.
