OLATHE, Kan. - MNU dropped 2 of 3 over the weekend in Oklahoma City. In Game 1 - a 9-inning contest vs. Oklahoma City - the Pioneers scored in the top of the 1st and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. But 3 straight strikeouts ended the threat, and the Stars scored 4 in the bottom of the inning. The Pioneers couldn't get anything more going, and OKC won 12-1 via the mercy rule.

Game 1 Turning Point
OKC won the 1st inning 4-1 to set the tone.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Randy Fernandez (1-2, R, 2 HBP) and Noah Castillo (2-4) led the offense.

In Game 2, a 7-inning game vs. Oklahoma City, the Pioneers scored single runs in each of the first 4 innings, but the Stars managed 3 straight big innings to take a 7-4 lead. Both teams scored 1 in the 6th, but the Pioneers fell 8-5.

Game 2 Turning Point
OKC's 2 runs in the 4th put them up for good.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Brycen Sherwood (2-4, R, RBI), Joshuan Sandoval (3-4, 2 2B), Ryan Leo (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, SB), Josh Torrance (2-3, R, 2B, HBP), and Dionathan Cornett (2-4) had multi-hit games.

In Game 3 vs. Bethany, MNU was kept off the board until a 3-run 4th gave them a 3-1 lead. But Bethany tied it in the bottom of the inning. In the top of the 5th, a Dionathan Cornett 2-run double put MNU up 6-4, and the bullpen preserved a 6-5 victory.

Game 3 Turning Point
Dionathan Cornett's 2-run double proved to be the game winner.

Game 3 Individual Leaders
Reece Helland pitched 2.1 innings of relief for the win. Nathan Torres struck out 3 in the 7th for the save. And Brycen Sherwood (1-2, RBI, BB, HBP), Ryan Leo (2-4, R, 2B, SB), Josh Torrance (1-2, 2 R, 2 BB, SB), and Dionathan Cornett (2-3, R, 2B, 2 RBI) led the offense.
