OLATHE, Kan. - MNU took 3 of 4 from Olivet Nazarene this week. In
Game 1, the Tigers jumped in front with a solo homer in the top of the 2nd, and the Pioneers were kept off the board through the 5th. In the bottom of the 6th,
Randy Fernandez led off with a walk, and
Brycen Sherwood tied the game with an RBI double. Two batters later, a double play scored a run to give MNU a 2-1 lead, and
Zach Trevino completed what he started for a complete game victory.

Zach Trevino struck out 7 in a complete game 4-hit victory. And
Brycen Sherwood (2-3, 2B, RBI) had 2 hits.
In
Game 2, each team scored twice in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd and 3rd for an early 4-4 tie. In the bottom of the 4th,
Randy Fernandez homered for a 2-run lead, and the MNU bullpen held the Tigers to 1 run in the 7th for a 9-5 victory.

Game 3, Olivet got hot with the bats and recorded 4 multi-run innings en route to a 12-7 victory. The Pioneers rallied late to get within shouting distance, but ultimately came up short.

Game 4, the Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd, but the Pioneers used back-to-back 3-run innings to take a 6-2 lead. Olivet rallied for a run in the top of the 7th and brought the tying run to the plate, but
Nathan Torres closed it out and preserved the series win.
