OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers scored 2 goals in less than a minute in a 2-1 victory over #5 Missouri Valley on Saturday. The Vikings scored in the 15th minute, and kept the Pioneers off the board until 14 minutes left in the match.
Rick Hovinga took a pass from
Vitus Voitl and slammed it off the keeper's hand and into the net for the equalizer. Less than a minute later,
Nicolas Theberge streaked into the area and slotted a perfect pass to
Antonio Mugica, who one-timed a top shelf rocket to give MNU the lead. The defense held in the final minutes, and the Pioneers captured a Homecoming win.
