Trevor Highley field goal and a 3-0 lead. The teams traded punts for the rest of the quarter, and MNU took a 10-0 lead on an
Adrian Parsons to
Cayden Brown 7-yard touchdown pass early in the 2nd. More punts and missed Baker 45-yard field goal kept the game 10-0 into halftime.
Baker opened the 3rd quarter with a stop and a 73-yard touchdown pass to get back into the game. And MNU struggled to move the ball for the next couple possessions. But a muffed punt set up the Pioneers at the Baker 11 yard line, and MNU ran a
Philly Special-type play on 3rd and goal.
Cayden Brown returned the favor to
Adrian Parsons for a touchdown connection, and MNU led 17-7.
Trevor Highley hit a 37-yard field goal early in the 4th quarter, but Baker responded with a touchdown drive and a 6-point deficit. Baker used all 3 timeouts during MNU's ensuing drive, and got the ball back near midfield with just under 3 minutes remaining. The Wildcats drove to the 20-yard line with 90 seconds left, but a pass to the end zone was picked off by
Daylon Proctor, and MNU escaped with a Homecoming victory.
