Pioneers Fall at Evangel

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers were held scoreless in the 2nd half in a 21-13 loss at Evangel on Saturday. MNU took the lead in the 1st quarter with an Adrian Parsons to Caleb Tanis 6-yard touchdown on 4th and 2, completing a 12-play 78-yard drive. After stopping the Valor on 4th down, MNU went 59 yards in 9 plays for a Trevor Highley 34-yard field goal and a 10-0 lead. Highley drilled a 43-yard field goal for a 13-0 lead, but Evangel closed the half with a touchdown for a 13-7 game at the break.

Early in the second half, an MNU drive ended with a botched punt, and the Valor took over at the MNU 39. A quick touchdown gave Evangel a 14-13 lead, and the Pioneers couldn't find points the rest of the way. Evangel turned an interception into another touchdown and an 8-point lead, and another interception sealed it late in the 4th.
