Pioneers Earn Road Win at Clarke

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Pioneers picked up their first road win of the season in a 38-24 victory at Clarke on Saturday. MNU got on the board with a Trevor highley 26-yard field goal on the opening drive, but Clarke took advantage of an interception and scored a quick touchdown for the lead. The Pioneers took 5 minutes to go 88 yards in 12 plays for an Adrian Parsons to Caleb Tanis touchdown, but Clarke scored early in the 2nd period to lead 14-10. A Shawn Cherry touchdown put MNU back in front, but Clarke hit a field goal to end the half tied at 17.

Tied at 24 in the second half, Adrian Parsons was injured and Blake Atkins took over at QB. The next 2 MNU drives resulted in touchdowns, and the defense held Clarke off the board for a 38-24 victory.
