OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers split a double header with Evangel on Monday. In Game 1, MNU got on the board in the bottom of the 1st when a bases-loaded HBP was followed by a walk for a 2-0 lead. An error in the bottom of the 2nd led to a 3-0 lead, but Evangel scored in the 4th to make it 3-1. In the bottom of the 4th, four straight hit batsmen brought home a run, and a Londin Fiorella single gave the Pioneers a 5-1 lead. An Evangel solo homer in the 6th made it 5-2, but the Crusaders got no close and MNU took Game 1.

Game 1 Turning Point
MNU's early 3-0 lead was enough.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Alexis Wilds struck out 5 for her 5th win of the season. And Cordelia Hanger (3-4, R, SB), Kaleigh Bayless (0-3, 3 R, 2 SB, HBP), and Londin Fiorella (1-3, 2 RBI, SB) led the offense.

In Game 2, the starting pitchers dominated through the 5th inning, and neither team plated a run. In the top of the 6th with 1 out, Evangel worked a walk and followed with an RBI double to break the tie. MNU threatened in the 6th but couldn't break through, and Evangel won 1-0.

Game 2 Turning Point
Evangel's RBI double in the 6th was the difference.
