ATCHISON, Kan. - The Pioneer offense exploded and the starting pitchers both went the distance in a double header sweep at Benedictine on Thursday. The Ravens rebounded to win a slugfest 13-12 in Game 3 before Game 4 was postponed.

In Game 1, MNU got all they needed in the top of the 1st. Josh Torrance singled and Adam Rellihan walked. A double play chance followed, but an error resulted in no outs and the bases loaded. Daunte Freeman singled home 1, and Jacob Jenkins walked to force in another. Brycen Sherwood singled in the 3rd run, and a wild pitch brought in a 4th. Austin Healy capped the scoring with a 2-out 2-run single, and MNU led 6-0. Benedictine's leadoff man started the bottom of the inning with a homer, but that was all the Ravens would get. Kyle Waller allowed just 3 more hits while striking out 11, and the offense kept putting up big innings. Four runs scored in the 2nd, 3 more crossed in the 4th, and another rally in the 6th produced 4 more for an 18-1 final.

Game 1 Turning Point
The unturned double play in the top of the 1st opened the floodgates.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Kyle Waller struck out 11 in a complete game victory. And Josh Torrance (2-4, 3 R, BB, SB), Adam Rellihan (2-4, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI, BB), Daunte Freeman (3-5, R, 2B, 3 RBI), Brycen Sherwood (2-2, 4 R, RBI, 2 BB), and Austin Healy (3-3, 2 R, 4 RBI, HBP) had multi-hit games.

In Game 2, the Pioneers picked up right where they left off. In the top of the 1st, 7 hits and 2 errors led to another 6-run opening frame. Benedictine answered with 2 in the bottom of the 1st and 1 in the bottom of the 3rd to get back into the game, but the Pioneers extended the lead with a 4-run 4th - highlighted by a 3-run double from Joshuan Sandoval - to go up 10-3. Jhon Vargas allowed no runs after the 3rd, and earned a complete game victory.

Game 2 Turning Point
MNU's 6-run 1st was all they needed.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Jhon Vargas struck out 9  in a complete game victory. And Josh Torrance (3-5, 2 R, 2B), Adam Rellihan (2-3, 2 R, 2 BB), Joshuan Sandoval (2-3, 2B, 4 RBI, BB), Brycen Sherwood (1-1, 1, 2B, RBI, HBP, Sac, SF), and Austin Healy (2-4, 2 R, RBI, SB) led the offense.

In Game 3, it was Benedictine who controlled the game, but the Pioneers almost completed a big comeback. The Ravens scored 2 in the 1st, but Austin Healy tied it with a 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd. Benedictine rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the inning, however, to take a 7-2 lead. MNU got back in it with 2 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th, but the Ravens scored the next 6 runs to take a 13-5 lead. After a rain delay, the Pioneers started a comeback. In the top of the 6th, 3 hit batsmen and a walk were followed by 3 consecutive RBI singles for a 6-run inning. Trailing by 2 in the top of the 7th, Healy led off with a single and Adam Rellihan singled with 1 out to put the tying run on base. A double steal scored a run and put the tying run in scoring position, but a great defensive play by the Raven second baseman ended the threat and the game.

Game 3 Turning Point
Benedictine's 4-run 5th built a lead from which MNU could not come back.

Game 3 Individual Leaders
