OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - MNU lost Games 1 and 2 on Friday, but won Game 3 on Saturday in a tough weekend hosted by Oklahoma City. In Game 1 vs. York, MNU fell behind 3-0 after the first inning and 5-1 after 2. Joshuan Sandoval launched a 3-run homer in the 5th to get the Pioneers back in the game, but York yielded no more run and MNU fell 6-4.

Game 1 Turning Point
York's early 5-run burst was enough to win.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Jhon Vargas struck out 11 in a 6-inning complete game loss. And Joshuan Sandoval (2-3, R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, BB) drove in 3 runs.

In Game 2, the Pioneers couldn't score until the final inning, and the #16-ranked Stars took advantage of 2 MNU errors to rally for 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Oklahoma City tallied another run in the 6th, and MNU's lone run in the 7th made the final 6-1.

Game 2 Turning Point
Oklahoma City's 5-run 3rd was plenty.

In Game 3, MNU jumped all over Oklahoma City with a big 1st inning. Three hits, 2 errors, 2 wild pitches, and a passed ball led to 5 runs, and that would prove to be plenty for starter Kyle Waller. Five straight swinging strikeouts highlighted the early scoreless innings, and MNU scored 2 more in the top of the 5th to go up 7-0. The Stars finally got on the board in the 6th with an unearned run, but MNU scored twice more in the 7th to take an 8-run lead. Waller punctuated his performance with 3 straight swinging strikeouts in the 7th to close out the complete game victory.
