DES MOINES, Iowa - The Pioneers closed the regular season with an 85-80 victory at Grand View on Monday. MNU led by 13 with 4 minutes left in the first half, but the Viking closed the period on a 16-2 run to take a 1-point lead. MNU again built a double-digit lead in the second half, taking an 11-point advantage with 4 minutes remaining. Grand View chipped away and got within 3 points, but the Pioneers hit enough free throws in the final minute to win by 5.

MNU went on a 9-2 run to turn a close game into a 9-point lead in the 2nd half.

Individual Leaders
Patrick Cairns was 4-6 from deep and 6-7 from the line for 20 points and 5 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench. Cameron Brady had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Trey Brown hit 3 threes for 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Pedro Lopes added 13 points and 5 rebounds. And Blake Spellman dished out 7 assists.
