OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers swept Sterling, highlighted by a Game 2 13-strikeout 5-inning performance from
Alexis Wilds, on Thursday. In
Game 1, MNU took advantage of 2 Sterling errors with 2 hits to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Two more errors and 3 hits in the 2nd made it 5-0, but Sterling rallied for 3 in the 3rd to get back in the game. MNU scored 2 more in the bottom of the 3rd, then blew it open with a pinch-hit 3-run homer from
Emma Gordon (her first collegiate homer), to win 11-5.
