MCPHERSON, Kan. - MNU dropped 2 of 3 games at the McPherson tournament on Thursday. In Game 1, MNU faced #2-ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and held a late lead. The Pioneers loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the 1st, and back-to-back 1-out walks put the Pioneers up 2-0. The scored remained 2-0 into the 6th inning when USAO finally broke through with a double and single to cut the lead in half. In the top of the 7th, a 1-out hit batsman put the tying run on base, and an error followed to put 2 runners on. A single loaded the bases, but MNU got the second out when the next batter grounded to short for a force at home. A walk tied the game, and a 3-run single blew the game open. Seven runs crossed before the dust settled, and MNU fell 8-2.
