KANSAS CITY, Mo. - MNU won a pair of games at the Urban Youth Academy over Olivet Nazarene and Tabor on Monday. Against ONU, neither team managed anything until MNU rallied in the top of the 3rd.
Cristian Rivera led off with a single and
Tyler Crane bunted him over. After
Austin Healy was hit by a pitch, a wild pitch moved the runners into scoring position.
Will Morris knocked them both in with a single, and
Jackson Berck followed with an RBI double.
Joshuan Sandoval capped the inning with a 2-run homer, and MNU led 5-0. Rivera doubled and scored in the 4th, and ONU got on the board with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. MNU recorded single runs in the 5th and 7th, and the Pioneers won 8-4.

Kyle Waller pitched 4 innings and struck out 4 for the win.
Jhon Vargas earned a 3-inning save with 5 Ks. And

Game 2, MNU won their first 1-0 decision in Coach Thompson's era (since 2007) as 3 pitchers combined for a shutout.
Caleb Jonas pitched 3 innings and allowed no runs, and
Easten Garrett followed with 2 shutout innings after MNU gained the lead. In the bottom of the 3rd,
Jackson Berck walked and advanced on a wild pitch.
Kyle Waller followed with an RBI single, and that was all the scoring.
Connor Jonas pitched the last 2 innings with 4 strikeouts, and MNU won 1-0.
