OLATHE, Kan. - MNU defeated #13 Clarke 62-59 on Wednesday. A fast-paced opening quarter saw Clarke grab a 5-point lead at 22-17, and the Pride led sluggish 2nd period 11-7 with 3 minutes to go to lead by 9. Makayla Gooch nailed a late 3-point to trim the deficit to 6 at the break, and the Pioneers continued to hold momentum into the 3rd. Early in the 3rd period, Gooch and Jordynn Gonzalez nailed back-to-back threes to tie the game, and the Pioneers won the quarter 22-11 to take a 5-point lead. In the final quarter, MNU never led by more than 5, but the Pride never got closer than 2 and the Pioneers held them off for the win.
