-Â The Pioneers fell behind early and couldn't dig out of the hole in a 45-2 loss at Central Methodist on Saturday. After forcing a CMU punt on the opening drive, MNU committed a penalty in the end zone on their opening drive, resulting in a safety. The Eagles scored a touchdown 2 plays later, and the rout was on. The Pioneers had a field goal blocked in the first quarter, and never could get back into the game.
"Unfortunately, we got in a hole early vs. CMU," said head coach
Paul Hansen. "We weren't able to overcome the mistakes. Give credit to CMU and their coaching staff for a hard fought game. We will regroup and get ready for a tough Baker squad on Friday."
Turning Point
The blocked field goal in the first quarter thwarted any chance the Pioneers had.
