Pioneers Fall at CMU

The Basics
Score: MNU 2 - Central Methodist 45
Record: MNU (2-5, 2-2 South), CMU (5-4, 3-2 South)
Location: Davis Field - Fayette, Mo.

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Pioneers fell behind early and couldn't dig out of the hole in a 45-2 loss at Central Methodist on Saturday. After forcing a CMU punt on the opening drive, MNU committed a penalty in the end zone on their opening drive, resulting in a safety. The Eagles scored a touchdown 2 plays later, and the rout was on. The Pioneers had a field goal blocked in the first quarter, and never could get back into the game.

"Unfortunately, we got in a hole early vs. CMU," said head coach Paul Hansen. "We weren't able to overcome the mistakes. Give credit to CMU and their coaching staff for a hard fought game. We will regroup and get ready for a tough Baker squad on Friday."

Turning Point
The blocked field goal in the first quarter thwarted any chance the Pioneers had.

Individual Leaders
Jackson Berck had 10 tackles and a pass breakup. And Jalen McQueen, Helaman Sagapolu, and Tanner Sample recorded a sack apiece.

Inside the Box Score
MNU out-rushed CMU 164-110.
