Pioneers Fall at #12 Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Pioneers lost the season opener at #12 Grand View 34-0 on Thursday. The MNU defense held the Vikings scoreless in 3 first-quarter drives, but the offense failed to gain any traction. Grand View opened the 2nd quarter by finishing a touchdown drive, then recorded a field goal and another touchdown on their next two drives to take a 17-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, the Vikings finished a touchdown drive to start the 4th then made a field goal and scored a touchdown on their next two drives for a 34-0 victory.

Turning Point
Late in the 1st half, Grand View scored a touchdown to go up 3 scores.

Individual Leaders
Levi Taylor completed 10 passes for 82 yards. Jamar Moya had 17 carries for 39 yards and 2 catches for 16 yards. Ryan Huerta recorded 16 tackles. And Chris Hannible and Jalen McQueen forced a fumble apiece.
