LAMONI, Iowa - The Pioneers were swept at Graceland on Wednesday. In
Game 1, the Pioneers scored in the top of the 1st on a 2-out RBI single from
Tessa Ward. Graceland tied it with a solo homer in the bottom of the 3rd, then rallied for 4 runs on 4 hits in the 5th for a 5-1 lead. MNU got a few baserunners in the final innings, but couldn't get any close to fall 5-1.

Audrey Denges (2-3, 2B) had 2 hits apiece.
In
Game 2, both teams scored 1 in the 1st, and
Kaleigh Bayless hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd to put MNU up 3-1. Graceland scored twice in the 4th to tie it, and the game went into extra innings. In the top of the 8th with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs,
Kinsey Kiser drilled a 3-run homer to give MNU a 6-3 lead. With 2 outs and 1 on in the bottom of the 8th, Graceland hit back-to-back homers to tie it at 6 and send it to the 9th. In the top of the 9th,
Emily Robinson's sac fly gave the Pioneers another lead, but Graceland rallied in the bottom of the inning. After a walk, a flyout, an error, a strikeout, and a single, the bases were loaded with 2 outs. Consecutive singles followed, and MNU lost a heart-breaker 8-7.
