Pioneers Swept at OKWU

Bartelsville, Okla. - The Pioneers dropped a pair of close games at Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday. The Eagles jumped on MNU right away with a 4-run bottom of the 1st, and added another in the 3rd to take a 5-0 lead. MNU crawled back into it with single runs in the 5th and 6th, and had the tying runs in scoring position with 2 outs in the 7th, but the Eagles held on to win 5-3.

Game 1 Turning Point
OKWU's 4-run 1st proved too much to overcome.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Kaleigh Bayless (1-3, RBI) and Emma Ryan (1-2, 2B, RBI) drove in runs for MNU.

In Game 2, MNU jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a 5-hit rally in the top of the 1st, but OKWU answered with 2 in the bottom of the inning to tie it. Kinsey Kiser's solo shot in the 5th put MNU up 3-2, but the Eagles rallied again in the bottom of the inning for 3 to take a 2-run lead. The Pioneers closed the gap with a Kaleigh Bayless 2-out RBI double in the 6th, but the Eagles held MNU scoreless in the 7th to win 5-4.

OKWU's 3-run 5th inning gave them the lead for good.

Kaleigh Bayless (3-4, R, 2 2B, RBI, SB), Kinsey Kiser (2-3, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB), and Cassidy Berry (2-4) had multi-hit games.
