Pioneers Split With #19 Baker

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Pioneers split a double header vs. #19 Baker on Saturday. In Game 1, MNU managed just 1 hit and fell 5-0. Baker scored twice in the 3rd and 3 more in the 5th to take the opener.

Game 1 Turning Point
Baker's 2-run 3rd was all they needed.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Taylor Creason (1-3) got MNU's only hit.

In Game 2, MNU jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Kaleigh Bayless singled and scored in the top of the 1st. Baker tied it in the bottom of the inning, but an Audrey Denges 3rd-inning RBI double gave MNU the lead for good. The Pioneers scored on an error in the 6th, then rallied for 3 in the 7th. Cassidy Berry led off with a double and stole 3rd. Audrey Denges singled home Berry, and Hannah Tenberge recorded an RBI then scored on wild pitch to take a 6-1 lead. Baker managed 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th and brought the winning run to the plate, but Allison Denges completed her start and escaped with the win.

Audrey Denges' double in the MNU 3rd gave them the lead for good.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Allison Denges earned a complete game victory. And Kaleigh Bayless (2-3, 2 R, BB, HBP, SB), Cassidy Berry (2-3, R, 2B, SB, Sac), Audrey Denges (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB), and Hannah Tenberge (1-2, R, RBI, BB) led the offense.
