Emily Robinson threw a no-hitter with 13 Ks in the first game of a double header sweep over William Penn on Friday. In the 1st inning of Game 1,
Kaleigh Bayless led off with a double and
Cassidy Berry knocked her home with a single. That would prove to be all MNU needed as
Emily Robinson dominated. The only baserunners the Statesmen achieved were from a dropped 3rd strike in the 1st inning and an MNU error in the 6th.
Cassidy Berry's solo homer in the 5th made it 3-0, and Robinson needed just 84 pitches to complete the no-hitter.
Game 1 Turning Point
MNU scored 2 in the 1st.

In Game 2, the Statesmen wasted no time getting their first hit of the day with back-to-back triples to open the game. A single, a hit batsman, and an error followed and threatened to blow the game open. But a line drive double play was followed by a groundout and Penn was held to just 2 runs. In the bottom of the 2nd, MNU rallied for 4 runs to take the lead. The Statesmen responded with 2 in the top of the 3rd to tie it, but an
Audrey Denges 2-run homer in the bottom of the inning gave MNU the lead for good. A double steal brought home another run in the 4th, and
Kaleigh Bayless hit a solo homer in the 6th to put MNU up 8-4. With 2 outs and nobody on in the 7th, Penn mounted a rally. Three straight singles loaded the bases, but
Emily Robinson entered the circle and closed out the 4-run victory.
