Jovana Jovovic recorded a career-high 29 points in MNU's 103-80 victory at Baker on Wednesday. It was the Pioneers' first 100-point game since last season's opener. In a fast-paced 1st quarter, Baker shot 70% to take a 28-26 lead, but MNU clamped down on defense to win the 2nd quarter 25-17 to take a 6-point lead into halftime. Near the end of the 3rd, the Pioneers led by just 2, but a 3-pointer from
Jayden Oliver and back-to-back steals and fastbreak layups from
Kechelle Figueroa opened up a 9-point lead. The 4th quarter was all MNU and the lead reached 26 before the final horn.
