BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - MNU dropped their first South Division game 49-20 at #24 Baker on Saturday. The Pioneers began the game with a 3-and-out before the Wildcats went 79 yards in 10 plays for a touchdown. Baker got another stop and touchdown for a quick 14-0 lead, but MNU started to change momentum with a safety in the second quarter. The Pioneers were unable to capitalize, however, and Baker extended the lead with a 49-yard touchdown run.
Levi Taylor found
Arnold Adams for a 33-yard touchdown pass late in the quarter, and MNU went to the locker room trailing 21-9.
Jalen McQueen recovered a fumble to open the 3rd quarter, and MNU drove into Baker territory on their ensuing possession. The Pioneers were stopped on 4th and 1, and Baker drove 75 yards in just 4 plays to go up 28-9.
Pablo Pereira nailed a 42-yard field goal, and MNU recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff to get the ball back. The Pioneers fumbled it back, however, and Baker scored again to take a big lead. Baker poured it on in the 4th, and MNU lost 49-20.
