OLATHE, Kan. - MNU dropped their second South Division game 34-10 to #10 Evangel on Homecoming on Saturday. The Crusaders forced a 3-and-out then responded with a 5-play 76-yard touchdown drive highlighted by a 66-yard strike. Another 3-and-out gave Evangel the ball, but a long drive was thwarted when
Chris Hannible broke up a pass on 4th and 5. On MNU's next possession, Evangel got a sack and former Pioneer star
Dominic Swillum recorded a recovered fumble to set up Evangel in MNU territory. A touchdown and blocked PAT made it 13-0, and punts marked the next few possessions for both teams.
Pablo Pereira got MNU on the board with a 30-yard field goal, but Evangel scored another touchdown just before halftime for a 20-3 lead.
Chris Hannible intercepted a pass on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, but MNU gave it right back with a pick of their own. Evangel extended the lead with a touchdown in the 3rd and 4th quarters, and
Zach Dressler scored a touchdown in the final minute to make the final 34-10.
