In Game 1,
Kinsey Kiser's 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd gave MNU an early lead. In the bottom of the inning, Avila had runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. But
Jostyn Bebout escaped with a strikeout, shallow fly out, walk, and groundout. Avila scored an unearned run in the 3rd, but neither team threatened again and the Pioneers held on to the 2-1 victory.
