CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Pioneers dominated Game 1 but dropped Game 2 at Mt. Mercy on Friday. In Game 1, MNU got on the board in the top of the 1st on a Megan Anthony 2-run homer. Anthony's 2nd homer, a solo shot in the 3rd, gave MNU the lead again. The Pioneers rallied for 2 more that inning to take a 5-2 lead, then exploded in the top of the 4th. Emily Butcoff led off with a triple, and MNU recorded 5 more hits - highlighted by a Christina Gochenour 3-run shot - to plate 8 runs to blow the game open.

Emily Robinson picked up the win and went 1-3 with a run, a double, an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. And Emily Butcoff (1-1, 3 R, 3B, 3 BB, 3 SB), Megan Anthony (2-3, 3 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI, BB), Taylor Creason (2-4, 2 R, 2B), Kaitlyn Leffle (3-4, 2 R, RBI, SB), Kinsey Kiser (1-2, R, 2 RBI, SF), and Christina Gochenour (1-1, R, HR, 3 RBI, BB) had big games at the plate.

In Game 2, managed just 3 hits and lost 5-1.
