Pioneers Split With Culver

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers dropped Game 1 but won Game 2 vs. Culver-Stockton on Saturday. In Game 1, MNU couldn't score while the Wildcats built a 6-0 lead. MNU finally dented the plate in the bottom of the 6th, but Culver rallied for 3 in the top of the 7th. The Pioneers answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th, but it wasn't enough and Culver won by 3.

Game 1 Turning Point
Culver built a 9-1 lead before MNU could get anything going.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Emily Robinson (3-4, R, 3 2B, RBI), Kinsey Kiser (1-4, 2 RBI), Christina Gochenour (1-3, R, 2B, RBI), and Tessa Ward (1-1, 3B, 2 RBI) drove in runs for MNU.

In Game 2, Emily Robinson kept Culver off the scoreboard and MNU rallied for 2 runs in the 3rd. Robinson's solo homer in the 6th increased the lead, and MNU held on to win 3-0.

Megan Anthony's RBI single scored the game winner for MNU.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Emily Robinson allowed just 4 hits and struck out 9 in a complete game victory. She also went 2-3 with 2 runs, a walk, and a solo homer. And Macie Jones (2-4), Megan Anthony (1-4, R, RBI), Kinsey Kiser (1-3, RBI), and Taylor Creason (2-2, BB) led the offense.
