JACKSON, Tenn. - MNU beat the #2 team in the nation in a 78-69 victory over Shawnee State in Tennessee on Friday. In a fast-paced opening quarter, MNU turned a 6-point deficit into a 7-point lead with an 18-5 run over 4 minutes. Shawnee State closed the quarter on an 8-2 run to get within 1, but the Pioneers won the second quarter and took a 7-point lead to the locker room. The Bears fought back to take a 1-point lead in the 3rd quarter, but the Pioneers closed with an 11-4 run to head to the final period leading by 6. MNU maintained at least a 2-possession lead throughout the quarter, and came away with a 9-point win.
