OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers led defending national champion Graceland in the final seconds, but a fouled 3-point shooter pushed the Yellowjackets in front in a 77-76 loss on Wednesday. Graceland led for a total of 20 seconds as MNU managed a multi-possession lead for most of the game. Late in the first half, MNU led by 12, but Graceland went on a 10-3 run to get it down to 5. MNU again led by 12 with under 9 minutes to play in the game, but a 15-2 run over the next 6 minutes gave the Yellowjackets their first lead with 2:10 remaining.
Trey Brown scored on MNU's next possession to re-take the lead, and GU hit 1-2 free throws to tie the game with 22 seconds left.
Jonathan Green buried 2 free throws with 5.2 seconds left, but Graceland's desperation 3 was whistled for a foul, and Mo Jackson calmly drilled them all to steal the win for Graceland.
