Late Comeback Comes Up Short

Canton, Mo. - The Pioneers trailed by 9 with 47 seconds left, but gave themselves a chance with a possession at the end down by 3 at Culver-Stockton on Saturday. The Wildcats led by 6 at halftime, then pushed their lead all the way to 16 with 12 minutes left. Culver kept MNU at bay until the final minute, when Dante Scroggins hit 3 free throws and a layup and Isaac McCullough buried a deep 3-pointer to get MNU within 2 points. Culver hit 1 of 2 free throws with 8 seconds left to keep hope alive, but MNU's desperation 3 at the buzzer went begging and the Wildcats held on.

Turning Point
Culver went on an 11-2 run in the second half to take a 16-point lead.

Individual Leaders
Jonathan Green had 19 points and 6 rebounds. Dakota Quinn shot 9-13 for 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. Dante Scroggins had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals. And Trey Brown had 14 points and 9 assists.
