OZARK, Mo. - The Pioneers have a signature win after a 33-26 victory at undefeated and #6-ranked Evangel on Saturday. It is the first victory over a top-10 team since 2014 (#2 Baker). After forcing a 3-and-out on Evangel's first two drives, MNU led 6-0 from 2 Pablo Pereira field goals. The Pioneers kept the first quarter momentum with a goal line stand, but a bad snap on a punt led to an Evangel saftey and a field goal for a 6-5 score. After an Isaiah Robinson forced fumble, Austin Blackston found Gunnar Brown to complete a 9-play 44-yard touchdown drive for a 13-5 lead. The Crusaders scored 2 quick touchdowns to close the half to take a 19-3 lead.

The 3rd quarter was scoreless as the offenses turned it over 3 times, and MNU recovered another fumble in the red zone to start the 4th. Levi Taylor turned it into a quick score as Gunnar Brown caught another touchdown pass, and the Pioneers took a 20-19 lead. With under 12 minutes remaining, O'Niel Williams III picked off an Evangel pass in the red zone and Jamain Lang's touchdown catch put MNU up 27-19. The Pioneer defense forced punts on the next 2 drives, and when MNU was trying to run out the clock, Jamar Moya broke loose for a 59-yard game-icing touchdown run. Evangel scored on their final drive, but MNU recovered the onside kick to secure the victory.
