Pioneer Offense Explodes at Graceland

LAMONI, Iowa - MNU scored 27 runs in a double header sweep at Graceland on Friday. In Game 1, MNU trailed 3-2 in the 5th when Lydia Reyes went deep for a 3-run homer and Natalie Clark hit a 2-run shot one out later to highlight a 7-run inning. Maddie Johnson added a solo shot in the 6th, and MNU won 10-4.

Reyes' 3-run homer gave MNU the lead for good.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Emily Robinson earned the win. Jostyn Bebout picked up a 3-inning save. And Madison Butcoff (3-5, 2 R, 2B, RBI), Maddie Johnson (4-5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, SB), Lydia Reyes (1-5, R, HR, 3 RBI), and Natalie Clark (3-4, 2 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, MNU trailed 3-1 after the 1st inning. Kinsey Kiser's 3-run homer in the 3rd put the Pioneers in front, but Graceland re-took the lead with a 3-run 4th. In the top of the 6th trailing 6-5, Kinsey Kiser's 2-run triple highlighted a 5-run inning, and MNU added 7 more in the 7th to win 17-6. 17 runs is the most scored by MNU since beating Dordt 22-16 in March of 2008.
