ATCHISON, Kan. - MNU won a tight Game 1 before exploding in Game 2 in a sweep at Benedictine on Saturday. Game 1 was scoreless until Natalie Clark drove home a run with 2 outs and Shelby Frans followed with another RBI single to give MNU a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the 6th, Benedictine scored 1 and loaded the bases 1 out. But Clarisa Cortez escaped with a fielder's choice out at home and a strikeout to end the inning and MNU held on to win 2-1.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Emily Robinson earned the win with 4 innings of 2-hit ball. Clarisa Cortez picked up the save with 3 strikeouts in 3 innings. And Brittany Jacobsen (2-3, SB), Natalie Clark (1-2, R, RBI, BB), and Shelby Frans (1-3, RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, MNU scored in all 5 innings en route to a 12-0 mercy rule victory.
