The Pioneers allowed just 4 shots in a 3-0 shutout of Bethany on Tuesday. In the 19th minute
Denise Dantzler took a pass, made a few moves just outside the box, and drilled a left footed shot to the back of the net to put MNU up 1-0. The rest of the half was scoreless, but the Pioneers struck twice in the second half.
Hannah Benedict broke loose from the defense and scored on a breakaway in the 50th minute, and
Taryn McClendon ripped a drive into the upper 90 to ice the game in the 61st minute.
Anesa Curic made 2 saves in the shutout. And Dantzler and
Breanna FitzGerald recorded assists.
MNU is 1-0. The next game is on Saturday at home vs. Concordia at 4:00.
