Pioneers Swept at #20 Grand View

The Pioneers dropped both ends of a double header at #20 Grand View on Saturday. In Game 1, the Vikings scored 8 in the first and 2 in the second to take control. MNU got 1 back in the fourth, but Grand View rallied for 5 in the fourth and won 15-1 via the mercy rule. Korrissa Aguilar (1-2, R) and Lydia Reyes (1-2, 2B, RBI) got MNU's 2 hits.

In Game 2, the Pioneers rallied for 3 runs in the top of the first, but Grand View tied it by the end of the second. Maddie Johnson drilled a solo homer to re-take the lead, and the Vikings tied it again with a run in the bottom of the third. Neither team scored in the middle innings until Grand View rallied for 5 in the bottom of the sixth to seal it. Maddie Johnson (2-4, R, HR, RBI), Lydia Reyes (1-3, R, RBI), and Natalie Clark (1-3, RBI) recorded the RBIs.

MNU is 12-8 (4-4 Heart). The next double header is Tuesday at home vs. Benedictine (13-13, 3-3) at 4:00.
