Eckley's 3 Homers and 10 RBIs Lead Sweep

Jordan Eckley drove in 10 of MNU's 26 runs while Phil Graham and Emilio Gonzales pitched 12 shutout innings vs. Grace on Friday.

In Game 1, Eckley drove the first pitch of the home half of the first inning over the fence for a quick lead. Kelvin Perez led off the second with a solo homer, and Eckley drove in 2 more to give MNU a 4-0 lead. Phil Graham dominated for 6 innings, striking out 9 and allowing just 2 hits, and the Pioneers offense kept scoring. Nelson Santiago homered in the third, and MNU rallied for 5 more runs on just 2 hits in the fifth.

Graham is 3-0. And Jordan Eckley (2-3, R, HR, 4 RBI, SB, SF), Nelson Santiago (1-3, 2 R, HR, RBI, BB, SB), Kelvin Perez (1-3, R, HR, RBI, HBP), Jeremie Gonzalez (3-4, R, 2B, RBI), and Lenzie Foley (1-2, 2 R, 2B, RBI, BB) led the offense.

In Game 2, Emilio Gonzales didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning, and the offense gave him 15 runs of support. Eckley had a pair of 3-run homers, Robert Berning added a 2-run shot in the third, and Jeremie Gonzalez launched a grand slam in the fourth. Gonzalez struck out 13 and allowed just 1 hit in 6 innings for his 3rd victory of the season. And Jordan Eckley (3-5, 3 R, 2 HR, 6 RBI), Logan Tills (2-4, R, 2B), Nelson Santiago (2-3, R, RBI, HBP), Jeremie Gonzalez (1-3, 2 R, GS, 4 RBI), Robert Berning (2-3, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB), Lenzie Foley (1-3, 2 R, 3B, HBP), and Christian Quinones (2-3, 2 R, 2B, HBP, 2 SB) had big games at the plate.

Games 3 and 4 were each forfeited in the third inning. MNU led 14-0 in Game 3 when Grace ran out of players. The Royals only had 10 available players and after 2 injuries, they were forced to forfeit. In Game 4, MNU led 9-0 in the third and Grace had 9 available players. When one of them got ejected for arguing, the Royals were forced to forfeit again.

MNU is 14-1. The next game is a single 9-inning contest at home vs. St. Mary at 2:00.
