Pioneers Continue Hot Streak

The Pioneers recorded 17 hits in a 13-1 9-inning victory over St. Mary on Wednesday. MNU got on the board in the second inning when Christian Quinones singled with 2 outs to score Jeremie Gonzalez. The Pioneers blew it open in the third with a 2-out rally after manufacturing a run. Jordan Eckley singled, stole second, moved up on a groundout, and scored on another groundout to give MNU a 2-0 lead. Nelson Santiago and Jeremie Gonzalez followed with back-to-back doubles, and Robert Berning added another run with a single. Two more unearned runs crossed, and the Pioneers led 7-0. Blake Robberson's 2-out 2-run triple in the fifth extended the lead, and MNU got 2 more in the seventh and 3 in the eighth to win 13-1.

Brett Ebers struck out 5 and allowed 1 hit in 4 innings to earn the win in a "staffed" game.
