Pioneers Drop Slugfest at Jewell

MNU out-hit NCAA D2 William Jewell on Tuesday, but the former Heart rival won 18-8 as the Pioneers walked 8 and hit 3. MNU got on the board in the top of the first, but Jewell answered with 5 in the bottom of the inning including a grand slam. By the end of the fifth, the Cardinals led 15-1, but the Pioneers didn't go quietly. Lenzie Foley's 2-run homer highlighted a 3-run sixth, and Jason Jones' 10th homer of the season highlighted a 4-run seventh. But Jewell went back up by 10 with a homer in the bottom of the seventh and the game ended 18-8.

Jordan Eckley (2-4, 2 2B), Logan Tills (2-4, R), Jason Jones (2-3, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, HBP), Jordan McCloud (2-2), and Lenzie Foley (2-4, R, HR, 2 RBI) had 2 hits apiece.
