Pioneers Handle Vikings, Advance to Semis

Justin Jamison had a season-high 17 points in MNU's 94-75 victory over Missouri Valley in the quarterfinals of the Heart Post-Season Tournament on Wednesday. The first half was an offensive struggle and neither team could put much together. MNU took a 32-30 lead into the locker room, then exploded in the second half. A 15-6 run opened up a double digit lead, and the Vikings began to press. The Pioneers scored quickly on several possessions in a row as they broke the press, and the lead ballooned to 22 in just 4 minutes. The 20-point lead was maintained for the final 9 minutes, and MNU won 94-75.

Justin Jamison shot 8-13 for 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Whelan was 8-11 for 17 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals off the bench. Gabriel Jordan added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Nick Syrie had 10 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Justin Randall was a perfect 4-4 from the floor for 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. And David Nelson had 7 points in 3 minutes.
