Pioneers Swept at Culver

The MNU offense was stymied on a cold snowy afternoon at Culver-Stockton on Saturday. Both finals were 7-3.

In Game 1, the Pioneers out-hit the Wildcats 13-8, but 4 errors contributed to the road loss. Brett Ebers struck out 6 in the defeat, and Jordan Eckley (2-4, R, 2B, RBI), Nelson Santiago (2-4), Kelvin Perez (2-4), and Christian Quinones (3-3, R) had multi-hit games.

In Game 2, MNU managed only 6 hits and never led. Culver scored 2 runs in the second, fourth, and sixth innings before tacking on 1 more in the eighth, and MNU dropped another 7-3 final. Christian Quinones (2-3, 2 R, BB) and Robert Berning (1-2, 2B, 2 RBI, SF) led the offense.

#9 MNU is 17-3 (2-2 Heart). The next double header is Tuesday at home vs. Grand View (8-4, 4-0) at 1:00.
