MNU Swept at Southeastern

The Pioneers dropped 2 close games at #16 Southeastern on Friday. In Game 1, SEU loaded the bases with 1 out, but Megan Deiter escaped with just a sacrifice fly. MNU tied it in the third when Kinsey Kiser singled with 2 outs and Maddie Johnson followed with an RBI triple. Southeastern rallied for 2 runs in the fourth, and the MNU offense was stifled the rest of the way and SEU won 3-1.

In Game 2, MNU scored 2 in the first but SEU tied it in the second. In the top of the fourth, Kinsey Kiser's 2-out 3-run double gave MNU a 5-2 lead. MNU had a chance to blow it open in the fifth when they had 2 runs in and the bases loaded with no outs. But a lineout triple play ended the threat and left MNU leading 7-2. In the bottom of the sixth, SEU had a runner at second with 2 outs before a single and 2 errors gave them life. A 3-run double tied the game, and a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh won it.

Lydie Reyes (2-4, R, RBI), Natalie Clark (3-3, R), and Kinsey Kiser (2-3, 2B, 3 RBI) had multi-hit games.

MNU is 7-3 (0-0 Heart). The next double header is Tuesday at Baker (21-12, 1-1) at 5:00.
