Pioneers Advance to Elite 8

NAIA Recap | For the third time in four years, MNU reached the Elite 8 with a 90-76 victory over William Jessup on Friday. Six Pioneers scored double figures as MNU shot 57% from the field while holding WJU to 41%. Jessup led by 3 with 3:40 remaining in the first half, but MNU finished with a 12-2 run to take a 7-point lead to the locker room.

In the second half, WJU started with a 9-0 run to take the lead, but MNU dominated the rest of the way. The Pioneers outscored Jessup 21-4 over the next 5 minutes to take control of the game, and the double digit lead was maintained the rest of the way.

Justin Randall shot 8-12 for 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jonas Page hit 3 threes for 15 points. Marshawn Arnold shot 5-6 for 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks off the bench. Nick Syrie shot 5-6 for 14 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Jordan Whelan added 12 points off the bench. And Gabriel Jordan had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
