Heart Champs! 700!

MNU secured a Heart title and Rocky Lamar's 700th career victory with a 77-51 Senior Day win over Grand View on Saturday. The Pioneers bounced back after their bad loss at Evangel with a 12-3 run to open tonight's game. The Vikings were able to hang in early and cut the deficit to 3, but MNU went on a 10-0 run to push it back to double digits. MNU led 49-33 at halftime and maintained a 20-point lead throughout the second half.

Rocky Lamar is 700-353 (.665) as his 30th regular season comes to a close. This is his 13th conference title (3-way tie with William Penn & Peru State, MNU holds the tie-break and will be the 1-seed in the tourney) and will be his 18th appearance at Nationals.

Nick Syrie led the way with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jordan Whelan had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jonas Page added 12 points off the bench. Justin Jamison shot 5-6 for 12 points and 5 boards off the bench. And Marshawn Arnold put up 11 points and blocked 3 shots.
